The amazonian flycatcher (Knipolegus hudsoni)\grows to 11.5 to 12 cm. The males carry a large orange red and even blue tinted crest for show. One of the most striking things that his bird has is the large crest both Males and females get yet the males are much brighter and red while the female's is yellow. This is used for courting and keeping other males out of a territory.
The bird is perfect suited for the life in the rainforest. The only threats are snakes, birds of prey, and humans. While humans are destroying the rainforest the Amazonian Royal Flycatcher is not endangered or under watch. This bird goes through the process of natural selection in which that the largest and the most red in males live and mate while the others do not. Some of the variations in the species is at the tips of the males crest it can be black or even blue tipped.
The bird does not have any vestigial structures though it does have homologous structures which are it's wings.
I believe that this animal will not look any different in 500 years because it has been the same bird for thousands if not hundred of thousands of years and it is very well adapted to its environment. The only thing i could see change is the existence of this bird in the next 500 years from human destruction of the rainforests.
